Empowering Lives Fund
Bridge the gap from necessity to dignity
The Arc of Washington County’s Empowering Lives Fund is designed to bridge the widening gap between government support and what people supported need to live dignified, meaningful lives. All unrestricted donations to the organization are applied to this fund.
How it works: Our Staff submit requests online on behalf of a Person Supported for programs and support.
Funds to be utilized for:
Medical needs, social needs and support needs that are outside their financial means
Extra-Curricular Activities (off campus) for Day Program, Stepping Stones, and Outreach including field trips, dance lessons, memberships to local attractions
Enrichment activities (on campus) for Day Program; such as yoga class or reptile show
Funds for Special Occasions to help people supported celebrate; such as meals or gifts
Capital Improvements
The Fund has Provided For:
Glasses which were outside their financial means
Transportable Wheelchair Ramp
Specialized Autism Bed Hearing Aid
Medical Bandages
Talent Show for Meaningful Day Programming
Vacation for person supported who had terminally ill cancer to go with his family
Other Ways to Give
We accept a wide variety of donations including stock transfer, bequest, multi-year pledges, donor advised funds, restricted funds, and grants.
