The Arc of Washington County offers innovative, Division of Developmental Disabilities and Medicaid-approved Day Services that allow each individual to realize and attain their fullest potential. Day Services are provided to adults ages 21 and over, with a variety of support need. Individuals acquire the skills and experience needed to participate in the community, achieve person-centered goals and outcomes, and work towards employment.

People supported and their families can choose from a menu of Day Services offered by The Arc of Washington County that fit their lifestyle, schedules, and individualized service plans and goals. Activities focus on building skills needed to achieve maximum independence including social and life skills, communication, problem-solving, and employment-related skills.

Our programs foster the concept of normalization and the integration of people with developmental disabilities into the work force.

DAY SERVICES

Day Habilitation

The Arc of Washington County’s Day Habilitation Services provides community inclusive opportunities. People supported in this program are engaged in a variety of activities adhering to an Employment First philosophy promoting employment, positive growth, meaningful activities, education, and socially valued roles in the community. Instruction is both community-based and within The Arc’s facility. Day services provide person-centered support and provide training in job readiness skills, job exploration, social skills, health and wellness, continuing education, self-care, individual rights and self-advocacy, math, reading, safety, and community access skills. Each individual’s strengths and abilities are assessed to provide job skill development.

Community Development Services

The Community Development Services (CDS) Program serves a maximum of up to four participants in the community. The CDS participants utilize community resources while becoming involved in a variety of venues, including workshops and classes, peer mentoring and self-advocacy opportunities, volunteer activities, and activities that promote health, wellness, and socialization.

Employment Services

We believe all people supported that want to work, can work, with the proper supports. The Arc of Washington County facilitates opportunities for people to gain and maintain integrated community employment, based on their unique interests, talents, and abilities. Our services align with the Employment First philosophy. The Arc Employment Services follow the Customized Employment Model.

  • Job Placement with Short/Long-Term
  • Coaching and Ongoing Supports

Medical Day

The Medical Day Center is available to individuals who require nursing interventions and monitoring on a daily basis. The Center provides assistance with improving their independence in self-care, personal hygiene, and activities that promote health, wellness, and socialization.
