Empowering Lives

A campaign to support The Arc of Washington County

The Arc of Washington County (The Arc-WC) is seeking the generous support of the community to help ensure that our neighbors with disabilities, as well as the gifted, compassionate professionals who support them, have the space and resources they need to grow, thrive and succeed—now and into the future.

Two Purposes: One Campaign

Since 1952, helping persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live fulfilling lives has been a dynamic partnership between The Arc of Washington County and our generous community.

Now more than ever, we need your support.

  • Renovate our facilities to create a new Day Services Center with enriched services, improved programs, and a state-of-the-art employment program for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, while accommodating those who need a high level of support.
  • Create an Endowment Fund to provide increased opportunities for our Direct Support Professionals, including scholarships, equipment, training, technology, and financial assistance, helping to ensure that the people we serve continue to receive excellent, individualized care.

The overall project, which totals approximately $7.25 million, is being funded in part by government grants and The Arc-WC’s own reserves.

Your gift to the Empowering Lives campaign will help bridge the $2.75 million gap between the funding we have already secured, and what is needed to complete these critical projects.

Your tax-deductible gift to Empowering Lives will allow us to:

Remodel with a Purpose

The new floor plan will allow the people we serve to work more collaboratively with one another and those who support them. The open spaces will be more flexible, making it possible for our differently-abled community members to practice life skills, explore their creativity, and make new friends.

The renovation allows us to implement these programs and provide the space we need to support approximately 100 more people over the next five years.

Our Generous Community Supporters

Once again, our community’s generosity will be the key to raising all the funds we need to bring these ambitious projects to fruition.

Contributions from The Arc-WC’s own financial reserves and grants from the government have given this fundraising effort a solid base, but we need your support to bridge the gap between what we have and what we need to complete this project.
