Position Summary:

Title TECHNICAL PROFESSIONAL IV – MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL – STEPPING STONES
Position Type: Part Time: 20 hrs per week; Mon-Wed – flexible hours.
Position Summary:

SALARIED BASED ON 20 HOURS PER WEEK – Flexible Hours.

Provision and coordination of clinical services such as individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy and consultation for the Stepping Stones program participants. The Stepping Stones Program offers services to children and young adults between the ages of 6 and 21 with Autism and mental health issues. The program is designed to facilitate the development of independent living skills, social skills, self care skills, communication skills and work skills. The program frequently incorporates the use of a “sensory room” into its after-school, weekend and summer care programs.

Qualification Requirements

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:  Licensed Mental Health Professional, e.g., Licensed clinical professional counselor; or a licensed clinical alcohol and drug counselor, licensed clinical marriage and family therapist, licensed certified social worker-clinical (LCSW-C), psychiatrist, psychologist, or psychiatric nurse practitioner who is authorized by law to practice a health occupation which includes the diagnosis, prevention, treatment, and amelioration of psychological problems and emotional or mental conditions of individuals or groups; OR, Rehabilitation counselor who is currently certified by the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification; or Bachelor’s prepared certified psychiatric rehabilitation practitioner currently certified by the U.S. Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association with one (1) year Developmental Disabilities experience and a Mental Health background.  Experience providing training or consultation on Autism Spectrum Disorder preferred.  Must possess a valid driver’s license and have the capability to safely transport persons served.  Position requires lifting, transferring, and the ability to implement proper restraint techniques.

Position Summary:

The role of the Professional Support Staff I-Community is to support individuals with disabilities, in a variety of community-based settings, to live and work as independently as possible and to reach their self-identified goals.  This staff is responsible for the facilitation of employment outcomes, community-based natural supports, as well as supporting, training and development of individual self-direction and self-advocacy skills. Types of support may include, but are not limited to: support in the community, job coaching and training, employment discovery, personal care, support with health and wellness, support to reach outcomes and goals, support with challenging behaviors. Provides   nursing care to assigned persons served. Observes the condition of the   individual and reports significant changes to the RN Case Manager.
Ensures   the Authorization for Use of Mechanical Supports are completed annually and   when there is a change in supports used; ensuring that Instructions for Use   of Mechanical Supports remain current.
Completes   annual reviews for individuals prior to annual IP including the Annual   Nursing Summary of the individual’s history during the past year.
Ensures   that 90-day authorizations for restraints/sedation for medical purposes are   completed.
Ensures   that nursing recommendations for over-the-counter topical products are   completed by the RN.
Completes   documentation of the assessments to ensure that completed assessments are   available in the home within two (2) weeks of the assessment date.

Title Management Professional – Residential Program Manager
Position Type: Full Time: Exempt
Position Summary:

Will have responsibility of assisting with overall operation of assigned department(s)/program(s) which includes both people and financial resources. Shows initiative and creativity to keep individuals time structured with a variety of activities to meet individual goals and program goals
Knowledge of and follows the needs of the individual as outlined in Annual Plan (OT, PT, Sensory, Education, Motor Skills, Community, Communication, Activities of Daily Living, Vocation)
Thorough knowledge of Behavioral Support Plans/Behavioral Guidelines and follows procedures accordingly
Facilitates individual choices in community integration and social interaction
Aware of and assists individuals with spending limits, purchases and budgeting their money accordingly as well as reports to supervisors when individual is in need of more money
Will work to assure that the individual’s support services/day programming/work are a reflection of their likes, desires, and needs
Reports environmental/vehicle/equipment issues to supervisor effectively and in a timely manner  to ensure a safe environment that is in good repair
Knowledge of individuals dietary restrictions and needs and adheres to their protocol
Maintains and respects agency property, individual property and cleanliness of environment
Assists and completes recycling, green house, gardening, market stand, and other ventures as scheduled

Job Specific Competencies

High School Diploma/GED required.  This entry-level position requires no experience, although one year of working with developmental disabilities or a similar population is preferred. This position involves working with individuals with traumatic brain injuries.
