The Awakenings Program was designed to meet the needs of individuals diagnosed with Autism. This program assists the individuals by assessing their sensory needs as well as vocational needs. Activities are developed and a sensory diet is developed to assist the individuals in daily life skills, community integration skills, as well as enhancing or obtaining employment. The Awakenings program is designed to help you learn skills that will allow you to do more things on your own. Activities are based on personal choice and may include community-based recreation and socialization, safety and survival skills, communication skills, and activities of daily living (i.e. personal hygiene, self-care, and leisure activities) as well as employment related activities.
