Supported Employment Program

Capabilities

Supported Employment is a program designed to enable individuals with developmental disabilities to find lasting employment within the community. SEP provides individual job training, job procurement, and, where necessary, ancillary services such as transportation. SEP operates 365 days per year, 24 hours per day. Individuals employed in the community are provided as much job coaching as necessary to successfully master the task assigned. Each consumer is also coached in successful work habits and attitudes. Individuals not currently employed in a community setting attend in-house training programs until obtaining employment.

Individuals ages 21 and older who are interested in SEP may submit an application for eligibility and funding to the Developmental Disabilities Association or the Division of Rehabilitation Services. Individuals ages 16 through 20 may receive services upon recommendation and funding by the Washington County Board of Education.
